A quick little fireplace project that really brought to life the living room of this Markham home.

Removal of the existing builder's fireplace mantel proved a quick demo, while keeping the existing gas fireplace unit in place.

Stone veneer was installed floor to ceiling up the fireplace bump-out to give this living area a beautiful feature wall focal point in the center of the room. 

​

A new floating style mantel was custom made on-site to provide support for the new TV speaker, and to provide a more modern aesthetic. 

​

With the TV being moved from a corner placement in the room to now wall mounted over the fireplace on a swivel mount it gives the TV a much better position while entertaining for the big game. 

​

Lastly, some floating shelves were added on either side of the fireplace to showcase the families favorite hockey photos.
